The government’s proposed Youth Jobs PaTH program intends to subsidise businesses to employ young people, so their outlay is only $7.60/hr (as opposed to the minimum wage of $17.70/hr)

Senator Leyonhjelm argues that it’s an acknowledgement that the minimum wage is too high and a waste of taxpayer dollars since the dole provides young people with $7/hr for doing nothing.
